Collection of videos from our Lighthouse Book Drive

This event was organized in collaboration with the property management of the Straits International Community and took place along the community’s commercial street under the name “Lighthouse Book Drive.” We invited students from nearby schools to volunteer and also partnered with local farms to provide free vegetables in exchange for book donations. More than just a one-time book drive, this initiative marks the beginning of a series of long-term public service projects. We plan to set up permanent book collection points within the community to ensure the timely recycling of unused books. At the same time, this event serves as a bridgeway between literacy and community involvement—moving beyond the founding of a public library to engage with communities, shopping districts, and streets. Both this initiative and those to come will connect different branches of people, across countries and borders, to take the first steps in the right direction which will foster a truly international movement that provides everyone with an equal opportunity through the power of literacy.
